FOOD VENTURES: Echo Store

Le boyfriend and I decided to go out and splurge on dinner tonight! I’ve
always wanted to try Echo Store for the longest time! And today was the
day we got to try it out! 😉 Well, I have been here before but only for
a milkshake and cake… and some dark chocolate 😛 

So here is what we had! A group picture of the food: HAHA

1. Honey Lemon Roasted Chicken – Well, I didn’t expect the chicken to be THAT big! HAHA! I ain’t complaining tho! 😛 Hands down to this meal, I really tasted the honey lemon flavor! Also, very nice paired to their brown rice which has a nice bite to it. The side veggies are also very yummy! They were fried in butter, I think.

2. Rib-eye Beef Steak – we were expecting, well, a steak! HAHA! But nonetheless, this was not spared from our curious and hungry tummies! Cooked with different herbs and spices, it gives off a really nice aroma to it. Reminds me of going to a spa! 😛

3. Carmen’s Best Ice Cream – DESSERT!!! YAY! I believe Echo Store is the only seller for this brand of ice cream, so we had to try! Luckily, there were these mini ice cream cups! So we could have two flavors! And there were only two flavors for this size! Coincidence? I think not! HAHA 😛

So, that was all that we had! Whew! We were full after devouring these delectable food! The food was pricey! But then again, quality doesn’t come cheap! This resto-cafe is located at Diversion Road near Robinsons Homes, quite far actually. Having a car would be handy. If you don’t own one, taxi is the way to go! HAHA So, maybe save a dinner date here for a special occassion? Hihi

FOOD VENTURES: Capellini Ristorante

So, I went bak to my hometown to do some site work. I decided to treat le mother out to lunch.

She suggested to eat out at Capellini. Well, I have been here several times and was quite honestly not impressed those times due to their service (or lack of it). But we had a go at it since Mama really likes them so much.

And thankfully, this was a much much better experience than those past few times! Good job, Capellini! I am so definitely going back here. Hoping for the consistency of their service. The food we tried (all new for me) were really delicious and mouth-watering! Are you ready for the close-up pictures I got of the food? HAHA Here we goooooo~

1. Fillet Mignon – well, I wasn’t expecting this because I keep hearing/seeing this in food networks via internet. This was my first time tasting this kind of dish and I have to say, I WILL BE BACK FOR THIS!!!

Serving size was a bit smaller than what I expected but I totally get it why they opted to make it two small portions rather than a big one. The meat cooks faster and also through and through! Although I would have liked to see a little pink in the center! It was still mouth-watering and very juicy. I appreciated this dish very much! ❤

2. POLLO (something…. I clearly forgot the name HAHAHAHA I’ll edit this once I remember!) – So this beautiful dish is a chicken roll stuffed with awesome to goodness herbs and spices and cheese and whatever else there is inside! Topped with this very yummy white sauce! Not sure if it’s beschamel though. This is what Mama had!

3. PASTA AMERICIANO – on their menu, it’s supposed to be penne pasta but I requested the change it to angel hair pasta. VERY GOOD DECISION! I mean IDK bout you but I love how when you bite into angel hair pasta! It has a very nice bite to it, the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente! Real tomatoes and herbs and spices! Plus bacon! You gotta love that!

So, that’s what we had from Capellini! Really satisfied with this visit! I hope to taste more of their dishes! If you’ve been here before, let me know what I should get next time! 😀 If you haven’t yet, you should totally try this place out when in Kidapawan City!

A day with Erika & Cheddy

So, @piecesofrie / @erikagalgo and I planned out a day to get our student’s permit for driving. After finally getting our permits, we headed off to the nearest mall we could find to grab some lunch and maybe a little dessert.

And so, we headed off to the grounds of the mall where there was an event being held and we saw this awesome ice cream stall! They’re called Cheddy’s Delights and we tried out their ice cream! You get to pick what kind of brownie to have and then choose your ice cream flavor, then yummy syrup!

I overdid it with the syrup though!

Erika got chocolate brownie, cookies and cream ice cream, and blueberry syrup.

I got chocolate brownie, blue vanilla ice cream, and strawberry + chocolate syrup.

The taste? It was just right! The brownie was really amazing ang chewy! The ice cream wasn’t that awfully sweet type, it just balances with the brownie’s flavor. The syrup gave an extra kick of awesomeness! I hope I get to try this again soon! So many combinations to choose! Ohoho!

I just found out that they’re going to open this JUNE 13, 2016 on 2nd Floor Felcris Centrale! Woot woot! I also hear, you may or may not get freebies and prizes depending on your attendance on the opening day! 😛 Leggo!

FOOD VENTURES: The Vegan Dinosaur

Fooooood! HAHA! What can I say? I really like eating. I tried out being a pescetarian and it’s been really rough. For some reason, healthier food is more expensive than regular food.

So, I came across this quaint little shop from walking around. I’ve been eyeing this since I saw pictures of this place and their food! 

Since this was my first time, I asked the waitress what the best seller is. And she suggested I’d try their new addition to the menu: Jackfruit Sliders. As weird as it sounds, I did order it. And in addition to that, I ordered a drink to go down with the sliders, it was so hard to choose since all of them sounded so good! But I went with the Vanilla Chocolate Smoothie, it had me at “natural, pure, unsweetened dark cocoa”. If you know me, you know how much I love dark chocolate 😀

Mind you, this place is all vegan! It makes me so happy to see a vegan shop here in Davao! Using up-cycled materials for their interior plus all-out vegan on their food! No dairy products used! Just food, the good old fashioned way but with a modern twist! Wait, why would I tell you when—– I can show you:

Seriously, how delicious can being healthy be? 🙂 

Got my Student’s Permit for driving! Also, spent the whole day with @piecesofrie / @erikagalgo and we bumped into this cool ice cream stall! Oh yeah!
