How I got Violet Hair

I keep starting off with my posts on how long I haven’t been posting! HAHA I’m so lazy updating my blog! Anywayyyyy, let’s talk about hair! *screams like a little girl*

Before I turned my hair purple, I was had ombre turquoise hair. Originally, it was ombre purple but La Riche Directions Plum fades to turquoise soooooooooo, I’m down with that 😀 not a boring hair day at all! I just love how semi permanent dyes fade! 😀

Soooooo, this is me and my hair~ as you can see the turquoise eventually faded to green. My awesomesauce friend, Mae, helped me out in bleaching my hair~

Kudos to my friend, Mae, for helping me bleach my hair~ aylabyu~

After applying the bleach to my sectioned hair, I put on a shower cap and left it on for about 30mins. Please always follow instructions on the bleach you are using. You do not want to leave this on for any longer. Trust me, I’ve been there and it ain’t pretty!!

And so, I washed it off and toned it with a product I got from the US called oVertone. I have no idea where I put my photos of the product but if I do find it, I’ll make sure to update this post! HAHA! After that, I went to a local salon and got a haircut just to take away them frizzy ends. And here’s how my hair looked

As you can see, the bleach worked so well and so did the toner! Well, it wasn’t really a toner, it was a pigmented conditioner which was supposed to maintain hair color. I got oVertone Vibrant Violet. I think it worked as a toner since I used it as a conditioner after washing off the bleach. So, with all the water still in my hair, the follicles could only take up a little pigment which eventually toned out my hair! Technically, this pigmented conditioner COULD very well work as dye! And if you plan on doing so, please apply it on dry hair! As I have also experimentally done here:

And I ran out of oVertone because I only got the sample size! HAHA! That is what was left of the conditioner after I “toned” my hair.

Moving on, I proceeded to dye my hair Violet in Directions Violet. Why Violet? Well, I was thinking when Violet fades, it could turn out to be gray/silver which is also popular nowadays. So, how to prove my theory? ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT! HAHAHAHA

PINTO ART MUSEUM

One spontaneous day in Manila, while waiting for board exam results, we decided that we wanted to go to this museum I keep seeing on my instagram feed. So, we did! HAHA!

HOW DO WE GET THERE?
Well, I’m not really from Manila so I’mma just tell you what we did.
1. Ride LRT 2 and go to Santolan Station. It’s like 15PHP, not bad. 😀image2. Look for the FX Terminal (going to Antipolo) just outside the LRT Station. Please ask the guard and not some random person, let’s be vigilant!
3. 40PHP per head going to Rizal, and you have to wait for it to fill up before you leave.. So we paid for the remaining seats because time is precious! HAHA also, the driver was kind enough to take us to the museum and we didn’t have to take a tricycle from the terminal in Antipolo. YAY!WHEN YOU GET THERE:imageYou’ll definitely see this quaint white building. I love the simplicity and the minimalist feel of the whole place. There is of course an entrance fee when you get there. If my memory serves me well, I think it was 180PHP per head. They give students a discount if you bring your ID! We forgot ours, so…. :PHere are some pictures of what’s waiting inside for you:imageimageimageimageimageimageGOING HOME:
1. Inform the staff so they can call in a tricycle for you going to the terminal, I think it’s 10-15PHP per head.
2. Ride terminal going to Santolan Station again 😀 (But we did go to Makati after this to visit St. Andrew’s church.. that’s for another blog post!)
3. Get home safely! :DSo there you have it! Hope you get to visit this wonderful place as we did! 😀

Out & About: UP Diliman

We FINALLY had the leisure of time! So we decided to go to UP Diliman in Quezon!

HOW TO GET THERE:

The best way (for me) to travel is when you have an option to use LRT! LOL because it’s faster (trust me, it saves a lot of time) and it (feels) safer than riding the jeep.

We were coming from España, so the nearest LRT station that would be going to Quezon would be Legarda Station then go down in Katipunan station. And from there ride the jeep going to UP. There is a Jeepney a few steps away from Katipunan Station.

When we went inside UP, we were supposed to go to Quezon Hall but we found ourselves lost inside the campus. LOL so we asked around how to get there, then on the way, we saw this quaint museum. It was odd for a museum since it had floor to ceiling glass windows all around. Museums don’t usually let natural light inside to protect the artworks. So we went inside and gave it a try since we were already there! Yihee! So excited!

The museum was Jorge Vargas Museum. It housed several different filipino artifacts and paintings that even dates back to the 1800s. My personal favorite from their permanent collection was a letter that was written in Baybayin (some people know this as Alibata) we weren’t allowed to take pictures of the permanent exhibit) and something like a diagram our ancestors had written. It looked so much like an alchemy symbol from FMA. LOL sorry okay getting back on the tour.

So we went and checked out the other exhibits which was awesome and quite confusing sometimes HAHA but we did enjoy it!

It was just fun and amazing. My favorite piece from what this artist, Angelo Magno, did was this:

Because it made me laugh HAHAHA

And so we went on with our self tour, we finally got to see Quezon Hall where the famous “Oble” is, and of course, the obligatory selfie comes along with it. We also went to the Architecture building where we found some old plates and miniature models of students are. And of course, visit the famous churches designed by renowned Filipino Architects!

So that ends our tout in UP Diliman! Next stop: Cat Cafe Manila! 😀
