How I got Violet Hair

I keep starting off with my posts on how long I haven’t been posting! HAHA I’m so lazy updating my blog! Anywayyyyy, let’s talk about hair! *screams like a little girl*

Before I turned my hair purple, I was had ombre turquoise hair. Originally, it was ombre purple but La Riche Directions Plum fades to turquoise soooooooooo, I’m down with that 😀 not a boring hair day at all! I just love how semi permanent dyes fade! 😀

Soooooo, this is me and my hair~ as you can see the turquoise eventually faded to green. My awesomesauce friend, Mae, helped me out in bleaching my hair~

Kudos to my friend, Mae, for helping me bleach my hair~ aylabyu~

After applying the bleach to my sectioned hair, I put on a shower cap and left it on for about 30mins. Please always follow instructions on the bleach you are using. You do not want to leave this on for any longer. Trust me, I’ve been there and it ain’t pretty!!

And so, I washed it off and toned it with a product I got from the US called oVertone. I have no idea where I put my photos of the product but if I do find it, I’ll make sure to update this post! HAHA! After that, I went to a local salon and got a haircut just to take away them frizzy ends. And here’s how my hair looked

As you can see, the bleach worked so well and so did the toner! Well, it wasn’t really a toner, it was a pigmented conditioner which was supposed to maintain hair color. I got oVertone Vibrant Violet. I think it worked as a toner since I used it as a conditioner after washing off the bleach. So, with all the water still in my hair, the follicles could only take up a little pigment which eventually toned out my hair! Technically, this pigmented conditioner COULD very well work as dye! And if you plan on doing so, please apply it on dry hair! As I have also experimentally done here:

And I ran out of oVertone because I only got the sample size! HAHA! That is what was left of the conditioner after I “toned” my hair.

Moving on, I proceeded to dye my hair Violet in Directions Violet. Why Violet? Well, I was thinking when Violet fades, it could turn out to be gray/silver which is also popular nowadays. So, how to prove my theory? ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT! HAHAHAHA

HAIR SESSIONS: Mardi Gras & Party at the Back

I am soooooo back XD I haven’t posted for the longest time evarrrr! But it’s not like anyone’s been reading my posts or anything. LOL.

So, if you don’t know, I own a little online shop with my friend and we sell semi-permanent hairdyes! And who better to endorse than ourselves, right? 😉

So, one day we made time to do our hair thiiiiiing 😀

It was a Holiday here in the Philippines, so no work for me and no classes for Mae! 😀

We had a contact for a bleaching session home service but cancelled on the last minute so we had to look for a parlor just to get our hair bleached since we didn’t buy a bleaching kit because yes we thought the home service person was there >________<

Anywhoots, we went around Jacinto Street and we found this little parlor on a corner. DO NOT GO THERE. They do not know how to bleach, or at least the person who did my hair did not. I was very disappointed. VERY.

So, after the much failed attempt to bleach on my hair, we came across this amazing but humble parlor at Obrero! The owner was nice, the hairdressers knew what they were doing and need not say more, we got our hair bleached! (Yes, I know it’s a big NO-NO to bleach on the same day. Bite me. I wanted to get bleached so bad)

For all you first timers out there. THIS IS WHAT BLEACH IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE WHEN YOU ARE MIXING. IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE FRIGGIN ICING 😀

Mae’s hair after bleaching 🙂 It’s not as light since it’s the first time her hair got bleached! 😀

And after bleaching of course, we proceeded to DIY!!!!! Because we are cheapskates. LOL (sorry not sorry)

We used La Riche Directions Semi-Permanent Hair Colour on our hair.

Here is Mae’s hair after washing it! 😀 You can try this style if you’re still a bit conservative in coloring. Business in the front, Party at the back! 😉 HUEHUEHUE

So that ends our hair sessions for this time! Thanks for reading! 😀
